Raised in the City of Angels (yes, I took that from the website), Colourpop has been a booming sensation across the US and the beauty industry!
I am a long time supporter of Colourpop and all of its products. In reality, and to be totally candid, most of its products are unbelievably amazing at such an affordable price. I’ve compared its products to the millions of lipsticks, mascaras, highlighters, so on and so forth that I own, and it does take the cake! As with everything, there are pros and cons to this product line, but most of its products are total thumbs up!
Lets start with the lipsticks. So, just to give you the 411, Colourpop has a variety of lipstick types: the famous Lippie Stix, the Lippie Pencil, Ultra Glossy Lip, Ultra Satin Lip, Ultra Blotted Lip, Ultra Metallic Lip (which I am so excited about,) and lastly, the most famous of them all, the Ultra Matte Lip. In this review, I’ll cover the Lippie Stix and the Ultra Matte Lip since they tend to be the products that are most asked about. The Ultra Matte Lip collection is fantastic if you’re looking for something that will last all day – literally. all. day. And they go for only 6 bucks a piece! Most of the Ultra Matte Lip products that I have apply perfectly, and stay on forever. There are so many different shades of this lip product line, from light peach all the way down to blue, purple and even green! (I bought all the random colors). The only downside to these is that they sometimes don’t rub off completely after you’ve used makeup remover. Also, some of the lipsticks get this odd scent if they haven’t been used for a few months. Regardless, I would definitely recommend you try it out. Everyone’s experience is different. Also… $6. Come on, people.
As for the Lippie Stix, they have a smoother finish when you apply them. They’re soft and have lovely colors. I love the light packaging; fits perfectly between my fingers. You have to reapply it from time to time throughout the day, but they don’t smell if you haven’t used them for a while. My favorites are Baewatch or Tootsi. I’m more into fall, soft, pastel and light colors. Love nudes. No, not those kinds of nudes.
A brief overview of other products: Have never had to complain about eyeshadows; they are SUPER pigmented and go on like a charm. Soft, powdery feel but stay on for a long time. And the highlighters… I cannot go out without putting on a highlighter. I literally want to shine when the sun hits my face. That’s how bad it is. And Colourpop makes it WORK, honey! Powdery, soft touch, the highlighters are amazing and come in different shades. I suggest you check them out if you already haven’t.
Anywho! Colourpop ships to your house – there is no store where you can buy the product, and Sephora doesn’t carry it. Neither do other stores. Hopefully there will be a Colourpop shop near you! I’m surely waiting for one. It’s products are cost effective and super quality. So, if you’re looking for a low cost, cute, fun and beautiful collection, check out Colourpop!
